Motuba began singing with his family at an early age and touring with his own group
while still in his teens. A soft spoken mild mannered man, to many who have seen him performed and listened to his music over the years the common reaction "African Roots" and "Exotic Rhythms". Especially the selection of songs on the TRILOGY CD. Motuba's music is a rear blend of authentic modern west African rhythms
and carribbean reggae vibes together with lyrics that celebrates the rich culture heritage of his homeland. Growing up in a household of five sisters and one brother
he learned the true value of loving, caring, and sharing with others. His father worked in civil service for the government and his mother was a kindergarten teacher at a school four miles away from home. By the age of six he would sing every song he learned to past the time during the four mile walk to and from kindergarten school every day with his mother.
